Waxy or musty, across the whole body

A waxy, musty smell like this is often linked to 2-nonenal, which forms as sebum oxidises across the body. The stick can control it on the underarms, groin and other apocrine sites. Controlling it across the body, such as the chest, back and legs, requires Phase 01, 02 and 03 of the Volatile Control System.

Faecal, across the whole body

A faecal note usually starts in the gut, where bacteria turn protein into skatole, which then passes into the blood and comes out in sweat across the body. The stick can control it on the underarms, groin and other apocrine sites. Controlling it across the body, such as the chest, back and legs, requires Phase 01, 02 and 03 of the Volatile Control System.

Strong fishy or ammonia, across the whole body

A strong fishy or ammonia smell usually comes from an amine, such as trimethylamine, that the liver normally clears. When more is made than the liver can clear, it leaves through sweat across the body. A low-pH routine keeps it down on the skin, so the stick works with Phase 01, 02 and 03, while a doctor looks into the cause inside.

Returns hours after washing

An odour that comes back within hours of washing usually means the bacteria are living deep in the follicles and inside biofilm, a sticky film that ordinary soap and body wash cannot shift. The stick does some pore-clearing as it works, so on its own it can handle milder cases. Stronger cases also need the Phase 01 daily wash, the Phase 02 resurfacing wash and the Phase 03 barrier cream, depending on the area.

Any odour that is metabolic in nature has to be managed through a two-pronged approach: diagnosis and internal care led by a doctor, and surface control through the Volatile Control System. Both are essential for successful odour control.

How it works

BVIC Endurance controls odour across warm, enclosed skin and apocrine sites: the underarms, behind the ears, under the breasts and along the bra line, the tummy folds, the groin, the gluteal cleft, behind the knees, and the feet. It works across multiple odour pathways at once, through four linked actions.

It blocks the enzymes that release odour

The onion and garlic note is a thioalcohol. It leaves the body as an odourless, sealed molecule in apocrine sweat, and only turns smelly when a skin bacterium, Staphylococcus hominis, uses its C-S lyase enzyme to cut that molecule open. Endurance carries a targeted inhibitor of that enzyme, so the note is stopped before it is ever released. Two further enzyme brakes work upstream: one slows the lipase that frees fatty acids, the other slows the urease that releases ammonia.

It captures odour before it reaches the air

Metabolic odours arrive on the skin already fully formed, beyond the reach of any antimicrobial or enzyme inhibitor. Endurance's trapping agents catch them at the surface before they lift into the air.

It lowers the microbes and the yeast

Slow-release antimicrobial and antifungal chemistry reduces the bacteria and yeast that generate odour from sweat and skin oils, and stays active at the skin surface through the day.

It clears the oxidised note and protects the skin

Antioxidant chemistry counters the oxidation that forms the waxy, musty 2-nonenal molecule, so the stale note is cleared at its source. Skin-identical lipids and a prebiotic reinforce the barrier, while a wash-resistant film anchors the system to the skin.

How to use

Twist up a small amount and glide a thin layer onto clean, dry skin, then let it settle for a minute or two before getting dressed. If you accidentally apply too much, rub it in with your hand. Use it wherever you are comfortable using a stick: the underarms, behind the ears, under the breasts and along the bra line, the tummy folds, the groin, the gluteal cleft, behind the knees, and the feet.

For healthy skin, we recommend washing the previous day's application off in the shower and applying a fresh layer each day to clean, dry skin.

The duration of coverage from a single application varies from person to person, because it depends on factors specific to each person's body. Some get several days from one application; others get around a day. Both are normal. This is not a shower replacement, and we do not guarantee multi-day coverage, because the science does not support it.

Ingredients

The odour control comes from a group of functional actives carried in a skin-friendly stick base. They work in the four linked ways described above: they block odour enzymes, capture and trap the volatile molecules, lower the microbes and yeast that produce them, and clear the oxidised note while supporting the skin barrier.

Common questions

Is Endurance a deodorant or an antiperspirant?

Neither in the usual sense. It is a targeted odour treatment in a stick. It is not an antiperspirant. It does not reduce sweat, and it will not keep you dry.

How is it different from BVIC?

BVIC handles everyday acid odours well: sour, cheesy, sweaty, onion or garlic at the surface. For most people that is all they need. BVIC Endurance is built for persistent odour that needs a multi-pathway approach. It works on several odour pathways at once, including the fishy and ammonia notes that an acid-focused product cannot control. If BVIC keeps you odour-free, stay with it. Choose Endurance when the odour is stubborn or comes from more than one source.

How is it different from a deodorant?

A deodorant suppresses the bacteria behind one odour. Endurance works across multiple odour pathways at once, blocking odour enzymes, trapping the volatile molecules, lowering the microbes and yeast, and clearing the oxidised note.

Does it really cover fishy and ammonia odours?

On the skin, yes. It traps those amine molecules rather than freeing them. If a strong fishy or ammonia odour covers the whole body, the source may be inside the body, and that needs a doctor alongside surface control.

How often should I use it?

For healthy skin, we recommend applying a fresh layer each day. How long a single application lasts varies from person to person: some get several days, others get around a day. Daily use is still the recommendation, and we do not guarantee multi-day coverage.

Do I need the rest of the Volatile Control System?

Not always. On its own, Endurance controls odour across multiple pathways. For persistent odours, pair it with the Bio-Clear and Bio-Reset washes and the BVI Barrier Cream.

Is it vegan and cruelty-free?

Yes. Endurance is vegan and cruelty-free, and made for sensitive and reactive skin.

Does it have a scent?

It is fragrance-free. It carries only the mild, neutral smell of its own ingredients.

What size is it?
