BVIC · Bio-Volatile Inhibitor Concentrate

BVIC costs three times the price of a deodorant.

Here is why.

1. Facial-level skincare for the body's most overlooked areas.

Think about how carefully we choose a face cream. We pay attention to its ingredients, how it feels on our skin and what it can do for us over time. We are also willing to spend more because we believe good skincare is worth the investment.

Yet when buying a deodorant, most of us simply look for something inexpensive.

It is an interesting difference in expectations, considering where deodorants are applied.

The underarms, groin and other skin folds are sensitive areas exposed to shaving, friction and trapped moisture. Yet we have come to accept that products for these areas should be inexpensive, even though the skin there deserves the same consideration we give our faces.

We challenged that thinking by developing BVIC from peer-reviewed research. We built its foundation using carefully selected ingredients found in facial skincare. We then incorporated complementary odour-control ingredients with different mechanisms, bringing together the chemistry needed to address three distinct types of body odour.

The result is a fragrance-free formula that brings the quality and consideration of facial skincare to your underarms and other odour-prone areas, while controlling odours that deodorants may leave behind.

2. BVIC is costly to produce.

The industry has created two categories, skincare and personal care, and conditioned us to believe that the latter has to be inexpensive.

A mass-market deodorant can be produced with a relatively simple base and a limited set of odour-control ingredients. That is a perfectly reasonable approach when the objective is narrow.

But BVIC has a different objective.

It must control multiple odour pathways, each governed by a different chemical process, within one formula that remains gentle enough for routine use on sensitive skin.

For acidic odours, BVIC uses buffered chemistry to convert volatile fatty acids into salts that are far less likely to evaporate.

For onion and garlic notes at the skin surface, it uses sulfur-binding chemistry to capture the volatile compounds responsible for the smell.

For yeast-associated odours, it incorporates a separate mechanism aimed at that source.

These mechanisms work alongside ingredients that help limit odour-producing microbes and a carefully selected skincare base.

This is not simply a matter of adding more ingredients. Different mechanisms must coexist in the same formula without undermining one another or compromising the product's suitability for delicate, high-friction areas.

This is what makes BVIC more complex to formulate and costly to produce.

We refuse to remove functional ingredients or compromise the formulation simply to meet the price expectations established by deodorants.

We started with the biology of the odour and built the chemistry to solve it. The formula came first, and the cost followed from it.

When you buy BVIC, you are choosing a formula that performs the function of a deodorant and goes further, addressing odours that require additional forms of control.

We are a company dedicated to studying the biochemistry of body odour, and we are glad that you are considering making one of our formulations part of your daily routine.

We want to respect your time, your effort and your investment by being clear about what the science shows and how it can make your life better.

In return, we ask just one thing before you complete your purchase: please take a few minutes to understand what you are choosing for your specific situation.

Our product page shows exactly which odours BVIC is a strong match for, the ones it cannot control on its own, and the science behind both.
