While I found this killed odour immediately, it had no lasting power for me. At all. If I wanted it to work, I'd have to apply every 2 hours. I had no issues with ingredients, texture, or scent. I wanted it to work, but it did not last.
Customer service was of great assistance. I didn't want to re-purchase if I was going to end up throwing money away, never getting this to work, because as we all can see, it's costly - for a reason. After a number of suggestions and ideas (I didn't exfoliate, I suffered through laying off shaving for a bit, regularly reapplying, smelling my underarms and smelling my clothes), it just became obvious that I was an outlier, where I'd have to reapply a few times a day, to a wide area, and make sure I was using lots of the product so that it stayed with me.
Again, I think some reviewers need to notice this is a deodorant, not an antiperspirant. It is not a cover-up. It is an actual eliminator. You will still perspire. Getting rid of odour was my priority. For me, it took a while to work. Daily applications, 2 - 3 times initially weren't enough. Over time, though, paying attention to the wide circle in which I apply it, making sure I started with overkill (a lot of product), then reapplying 1-2 times throughout the day, my body finally accepted it.
I am a nervous sweater, and that's when the odour gets me. Over the past year and a half, one of the fancy new miracle products stopped working, and I noticed I was getting odour more often than ever. Nightmare. Normally, sweating hard during a run, I had no odour issues, but I dug myself a hole with market hype from that other product.
Staying with this product did pay off. I guess I'm weird. It took longer than expected, but into my second tin, even with my inconsistent schedule, I'm finding I need to apply less and less; however, if I notice a hint of anything and apply the product, odour is gone and it stays that way.
I cannot give it 5 stars because of the application method. I would imagine this is a nightmare for the manufacturer. Right now, the tins can be recycled, but the mess that's left on your fingers that takes forever to wash off... so frustrating. I tied reusable garden gloves with coated fingertips to keep the product off my hands, and it kind of worked. But I don't like getting ready and going from hair product, to face serum, to moisturizer, to deodorant, to flossing (in whatever order this happens), and have this added somewhere I don't want it. Perhaps as I go, I won't feel the need to have one last application before I leave the house and it's looking as though that's a likely possibility.
It's still messy, though. And I wash my poor hands so much they're starting to look 20 years older than the rest of me. The problem is, I like that I'm not throwing out a mixed plastic tube all the time. I prefer the mess to that. But when I let my nails grow, it's so much worse. That is the only drawback, and there's no perfect answer. I value the environment more, so I have to accept the messy.
This product is good. Give it time. I knew that when it killed odour instantly, but I felt like I was using so much that the cost would end up being insane. Slowly, I can see I'm using less, so I'm optimistic that trend will continue. It just took some extra time with me. Now I'm hoping the trend continues, and I'll be able to use this for years.
