To everyone who has ever used the paste:
Since we announced the retirement of our original paste deodorant, we have received messages filled with frustration, disappointment, gratitude, and deep care. Every message, whether critical or kind, matters to us.
Today, we want to share openly why we made this decision, how we have reflected on it, and where we are headed next.
Why we are letting go of the paste?
The paste works exceptionally well. It stops bacterial body odour at the source without stabilizers, fragrances, or gimmicks and helps thousands who thought nothing else ever would.
But the same qualities that make it effective also make it challenging to support at scale:
- Its texture and viscosity vary naturally because we refuse to use unnecessary additives.
- It needs careful storage due to its stabilizer-free composition.
- It is frequently misunderstood, which necessitates constant explanation and defense.
Despite our efforts to communicate transparently, we are met with recurring accusations:
- That the formula has changed. No, it hasn’t.
- That batches are defective or underfilled. No, they aren’t: we fill by weight, not volume.
- That we are misleading customers. We never do. Our work is grounded in science and science is built to inform, not mislead.
As a small team, this ongoing cycle became emotionally and logistically unsustainable. We realized that the product was no longer being held up publicly by the community that once embraced it and we couldn’t carry it alone.
Behind the scenes, our team faces persistent hostility, much of it from individuals unwilling to read, or unwilling to accept even our clearest explanations. We witnessed speculation evolve into online discussions, and honest scientific responses were dismissed as mere excuses. The emotional toll has been significant.
We understand that disappointment can lead to criticism but much of what we experience crosses the line into abuse. This makes it more challenging to serve those who genuinely depend on us and forced us to make a choice: continue defending ourselves, or begin rebuilding with peace, purpose, and focus.
The paste remains available for now and will stay in stock until the stick deodorant launches or the remaining jars sell out.
What we are building now?
This decision wasn’t made due to a failure of the paste; rather, it was made because defending it was distracting us from our true mission: to innovate in odour care and skin health.
We haven’t sacrificed performance; instead, we have elevated it.
Introducing SPECTRUM 72
Spectrum 72 is our most advanced product line yet. Every product under development remains fragrance-free and excludes common allergens including coconut derivatives, making them a perfect fit for extremely sensitive skin, including conditions like eczema, HS, and post-inflammatory irritation.
SPECTRUM 72 Stick: Under Development
A full-body deodorant stick engineered specifically for sensitive skin and to outperform everything, including our original paste:
- Targets all odours that can be controlled topically: bacterial, stress-induced, hormonal, nonenal (aging), metabolic, and medical-related odours.
- Lasts over 72 hours, even through sweat, showers, and workouts.
- Repairs the skin barrier, reduces irritation, and visibly reduces dark spots (brightening).
- Applies smoothly without stickiness or greasiness. Safe for even the most sensitive skin.
- Lightweight and non-staining, with an almost invisible finish: no residue, no irritation.
SPECTRUM 72 SERUM: Under Development
An advanced serum engineered for whole-body odour control and sensitive-skin support. Designed for areas where the stick isn’t ideal:
- 72-hour odour protection
- Barrier repair and hydration
- Reduces hyperpigmentation and post-inflammatory darkening
- Lightweight and non-staining with an invisible finish with no residue or irritation.
Ideal for under-breasts, folds, thighs, feet, and intimate areas.
Why does a deodorant also focus on brightening?
Because sweat, friction, and irritation often lead to skin damage and dark patches. Addressing this is not cosmetic, it’s clinical. If we can stop odour and restore healthier skin, we believe it’s our responsibility to do both. We will publish clinical studies for both when they become available.
Our Commitment
Since day one, every decision at Super Deodorant Labs has followed a simple scientific standard:
- No added fragrance
- No unnecessary excipients
- No functional compromises
If it doesn’t outperform everything, protect more effectively, and remain safe for sensitive skin, it doesn’t leave our lab.

The paste is the beginning.
It continues to helps thousands reclaim their confidence and gives us the foundation to build what comes next.
To everyone who stands by it, thank you.
To everyone stepping into this next chapter with us: we are building for you.
We are building with more knowledge, more resolve, and the same belief we have held since day one:
You deserve a deodorant that doesn’t just stop odour, it transforms your skin.
We are just getting started.
And what’s coming is worth it.
With deep respect,
The Super Deodorant Labs Team

I love your paste deodorant. I bought five extra jars even though I’ve barely used any of the first one. I’ve had it for over three months now ❤️. One jar lasts forever.
I worked in customer service for a long time, and I understand you, even though I’m disappointed to lose such a wonderful product because customers don’t want to take the time to think and to read, even though it will be replaced by another product.
We’re so used to completely frozen and inert, and therefore often toxic, commercial products that most people view the behavior of natural products as negative, like when a customer gives a negative review of a good natural wine because their latest bottle doesn’t taste exactly like the first…
In short, I hope you’re going to have your Christmas party in a demolition chamber or an axe-throwing area to let go of all that bad energy you’ve been enduring. Your story confirms what we apply at work: you have to treat the customer as if they were a 10-year-old child.
Sorry to hear about the unsolicited behaviour of the trolls living in their parents basement under the guise of anonymity and I do appreciate your product. If you’re replacing a great product with an even greater product, I see that as a win, win.
Congratulations to your team and thank you!
First natural product I’d ever found that worked. No more toxic aluminum and so much easier to wash my clothes now. Sad to see it go. Can you give us the recipe?
I want to say how absolutely sorry I am that you’ve had to make such a monumental pivot because of customer abuse. As the owner of a small business who deals with 90% of customer inquiries, this post hit close to home, and it really broke my heart to hear what you’ve experienced. I also commend you on your bravery for recognizing that a change needed to be made so you could continue running your business in an emotionally sustainable way.
To anyone who is incredibly upset at this change: If you’re angry with Super Deodorant, your anger is misdirected. Please instead direct your anger where it SHOULD go, which is to anyone who thought it was ok to treat Super Deodorant employees in disrespectful way. They didn’t cancel this product to spite you or hurt you; they cancelled it because they could no longer handle the abuse. As scared as you may be to lose this product, you should be disappointed with your fellow customers, not the company.
I’ve been a huge fan of your product for several years now, and trust that version 2.0 will be made with as much care, attention, and intelligence as the first!
